ALL MY PEOPLE DANCE

Contracted by Nova Ostermann to do 3D work for her luxury water brand concept, All My People Dance, otherwise known as AMPD, I worked under her art direction to realize her creative vision.

Artistic Roles

Isabelle Ostermann              3D Modeling & Renders

Nova Ostermann         Art Director & Graphic Design

While Nova is based in Ohio, I worked remotely from Calgary, Alberta. With strong communication I quickly modeled the object in Rhinoceros 3D and brought the .stl file into Blender to create high quality renders.

Technologies

Rhinoceros 3D, Blender

Previously, I had gained experience in Blender with soft surface modeling when creating The Born Witch figurine, but this is the first project that I learned how to use the program's

lighting, camera and key frame tools. For the majority of the project's renderings, lights such as spot or area were used to attain the desired look.

There was a unique request by my art director to render with

the lighting that is created by the scene lights of forest.exr while in the material preview mode. After a few failed attempts to recreate this lighting in the display render preview with spot and area lights, I started researching how I could plug the forest.exr scene into the world output.

Half a dozen tutorials later, I opened the shading editor window, changed the drop down menu from object to world and used the following node connections with forest.exr selected under environment texture. Now the material preview lighting was successfully imputed to the render view, completing my art director's request for the following render.
